Sarah Judd

In this podcast, I interview Sarah Judd from Meadow Lynn Farms. Sarah farms full-time with her husband Thomas and in-laws Fred and Sharon.  The farm encompasses a 50-cow Jersey dairy, cash crops, 12 acres of strawberries and 130- member CSA program. Sarah started the CSA in 2015 after deciding to leave her off-farm job and help to diversify the farming operation. The CSA runs for 20 weeks from June to October with 95% of their members picking up their veggies on the farm. Sarah and her family farm near Simcoe, Ontario.

In this episode, we talk about the power of relationship-building to driving customer satisfaction. She also shares a couple of innovative sales and marketing strategies that have gotten her some momentum (including something to do with painted rocks!). Sarah uses the Early Bird Launch formula to help pre-sell her shares in late October, and has had really good success! She talks about what her “offer” looked like and what she’d do differently next time.
